Mohammed Ameen Banubhai

I am a South African educator with experience teaching Islamic Studies, and STEM at school level.. I enjoy helping students engage with complex ideas in a clear, practical and meaningful way.

Teaching experience

I currently teach Grade 7 - 10 Islamic Studies and Grade 9 STEM. My classroom experience includes discussion-based lessons, practical Arduino projects, curriculum development and helping students connect traditional knowledge with contemporary questions.

Qualifications

I have completed an ʿĀlimiyyah programme and am currently completing a BA Honours in Religious Studies. My academic interests include Islamic theology, Islam and science, religious education and the way students engage with different forms of knowledge.

Teaching style

My teaching style is conversational, patient and student-centred. I encourage learners to ask questions, explain ideas in their own words and participate actively rather than simply memorising information. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where complex topics feel accessible and relevant.
