Gadiejah Ceres

I am a qualified academic and Islamic teacher with many years of experience in both the academic and Islamic education sectors. I currently serve as the Head of Department (HOD) for Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies at Islamia Primary.

My teaching approach is centred on patience, respect, and nurturing a genuine love for Islam and learning. I believe every child learns at their own pace, and I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel confident to grow.

For Quran memorisation (Hifz), I use a repetition-based ("parrot fashion") method to help students memorise accurately and confidently. When teaching Quran reading, I focus on proper recitation with patience, gently correcting mistakes in a respectful and encouraging manner so that students develop both confidence and proficiency.

My Islamic Studies lessons are designed to inspire curiosity and understanding. Seerah and Islamic history are taught in a storytelling format, making the lessons engaging, relatable, and memorable for children. I aim to help students not only gain knowledge but also develop a sincere love for Islam and its beautiful teachings.

To ensure learning is retained, every lesson is reinforced through questions, discussions, and revision, allowing students to reflect on what they have learned and actively participate in the learning process.
